Wholebean or ground.
As people use brewing equipment in different ways, we tried to simplify our grind size categories. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask! Email us at shop@fcp.coffee
Wholebean
This is ideal for preserving the freshness of a coffee. Oxygen makes coffee stale, and when you grind a coffee you rapidly accelerate this process by increasing the surface area.
We wholly recommend a good grinder for home use, and to just grind what you need at a time. When storing your beans, push out all the air in the bag through the valve after you close it.
Filter (Medium)
This is the grind size we use for larger brews, anything over about 400g. If you’re brewing for more than one person or if you have an extremely large mug!
Filter (Fine)
This is the grind size we use for smaller brews, anything less than 400g. If you brew a single cup at a time
Stovetop
Stovetop, Moka-pot, Percolator, whatever you want to call it, this needs a relatively fine grind.
Espresso?
Espresso needs a fine grind. However, the difficulty lies in getting it just right, which usually takes some trial and error (also known as dialing in). So grinding a whole bag at once is rarely a good idea!
